Meridian is built around private, local-first support. This page explains what the app stores, what stays on your device, what can sync through iCloud, and what you can delete or export.

The Meridian app does not use advertising identifiers or analytics SDKs. Optional website analytics are consent-based and are not used for advertising.
Your quit plan, cravings, check-ins, rescue history, and progress are stored on your device unless you choose to sync or share them.
You can export data, reset parts of your history, reset everything, turn off notifications, and control optional iCloud sync.
01
Meridian does not sell your data, does not track you for advertising, and does not send your quit history to a Meridian account or Meridian-owned server. The app is designed to work without an account.
Your data is primarily stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, selected categories are copied to your own iCloud key-value store so your Apple devices can stay in step.
This website uses Google Analytics only after you choose to allow it. Website analytics are kept separate from the Meridian app and do not include your quit plan, cravings, check-ins, journals, or other app data.
02
Meridian handles information you enter and progress generated from that information. It may be sensitive because it relates to quitting nicotine, cravings, habits, moods, money saved, and personal support notes.
This includes your quit date, quit start date, quit mode, quit reason, cigarettes per day, price per pack, selected currency, smoke-free progress, cigarettes avoided, money saved, milestone state, and logged cigarette events used to calculate your current smoke-free stretch and net progress.
This includes craving timestamps and source, daily check-ins with mood, craving level, triggers, and wins you choose to record, plus Craving Rescue sessions, completed rescue actions, daily quest progress, and protective next steps.
This includes reason journal entries, gratitude entries, habit plans, support messages, trigger logs, wind-down targets, and the pin, archive, presentation, feedback, and effectiveness records used to decide what should be shown back to you.
Meridian does not request HealthKit, precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, photo library, or App Tracking Transparency permission in the app code reviewed.
03
Most app state is stored in iOS app storage. More personal quit values, such as quit date, quit start date, quit reason, and quit mode, are stored in the iOS Keychain.
Memory Library collections are written to app support files with complete file protection where the app uses file storage.
The widget reads a small App Group snapshot with progress fields needed to render Home Screen widgets.
Apple handles StoreKit purchase processing. Optional sync uses Apple iCloud, controlled by the iCloud settings inside Meridian.
04
iCloud sync is optional. When enabled, Meridian can sync a full backup or selected categories through Apple's iCloud key-value store. The app syncs profile data, daily check-ins, craving logs, achievements, and cigarette events.
When full sync is off, the profile toggle also includes cigarette events because the quit date and logged cigarettes together define your current smoke-free stretch and net cigarettes avoided.
iCloud sync is handled by Apple's iCloud infrastructure. Meridian does not operate a separate server for this data.
05
Meridian asks for notification permission only when you turn reminders on. Notifications can include daily reminders and risk follow-ups. The app can use recent local state, such as cravings, check-ins, rescue actions, smoke-free days, and your discreet-content setting, to schedule reminder content.
Notification actions route you back into Meridian features like quick check-in, Rescue Hub, breathing, or Read My Reason. The current app does not store notification action interaction counters.
06
Meridian Pro purchases, subscriptions, introductory offer eligibility, purchase status, restoration, and entitlement checks are handled through Apple StoreKit.
Meridian does not receive your full payment card details. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through Apple.
07
The app can create a temporary JSON export that includes your profile, stats snapshot, check-ins, craving dates, cigarette events, and seen milestones. You choose where to send or save that file using the iOS share sheet.
Some quests let you copy or share support messages. If you copy a message, it is placed on your device clipboard. If you share a message or export file, your chosen destination controls what happens next.
If you email support, we receive the information you include in that email, such as your address, message, and any files or screenshots you attach.
08
Data generally stays on your device until you delete it, reset it, or delete the app. Inside Meridian, you can delete check-in history, reset cravings, reset milestones, export your data, or reset everything.
Some collections are intentionally bounded. Craving logs keep a rolling recent window and deduplicate events close together in time. Memory Library entries are capped to recent entries, and app history collections such as rescue sessions, cigarette events, next protective steps, memory presentation records, memory feedback records, and quest effectiveness records are capped to keep storage under control.
Reset Everything removes saved progress from local app storage and clears the sensitive quit values stored in the Keychain. If you enabled iCloud sync, use the iCloud controls in the app when you also want to clear the iCloud backup.

If you choose Allow analytics, this website loads Google Analytics 4 to help us understand aggregate traffic and improve the public website. Depending on the web stream settings, this can include pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device information, referral source, scrolling, and outbound link activity.
The Google Analytics tag is not loaded until you allow it. If you decline, no Analytics request is sent. Your choice is saved in this browser so the website can remember it.
We do not set a User-ID, enable Google Signals, use advertising personalization, or send quit, craving, journal, check-in, or other app information to Google Analytics.
You can change your decision at any time using Analytics choices in the website footer. Declining after previously allowing analytics disables future measurement and removes Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to this website.
Google processes analytics data under its own terms and privacy controls. Meridian does not use this data for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
